Online gaming should be fun and not lead to financial problems. Only invest money that you have left over, and set clear limits for your spending. It's important to manage your money responsibly and not be tempted to spend more than you can afford.

Last War uses many psychological and addictive mechanics to encourage players to spend money. It's important to be aware of these abusive mechanics. Never pressure those who invest less or nothing at all, and don't automatically derive higher competence or status from a higher investment level. Arrogance and superiority, especially towards "free-to-play" players, is not only inappropriate but also a sign of insecurity and lack of self-confidence.

The game is designed as a classic "pay-to-win" title, where accounts become stronger the more money is invested, and "free-to-play" players cannot partially close this gap even with enormous time investments. However, you can still have fun and be successful in your segment without investing.

The Percentage Values

Last War is transparent in the sense that every real money package has a percentage value that indicates how much "value" you get. The percentages themselves are, of course, not objective but are completely exaggerated and meant to encourage purchases, but they are still comparable to each other. For example, a package with 8000% actually has a better cost/benefit ratio than a package with 4000%.

Packages over 8000% are generally always recommended. This includes the monthly pass and most battle passes. But even here, not everything that is over 8000% is useful for an account. It always depends on the current needs and goals.

You should also look at the additional building and research slots, which as a one-time payment usually accelerate the development of an account, especially at the beginning.

More Money, Less Benefit

A core pattern in Last War: the more you spend, the worse the value per euro. The cost/benefit ratio decreases drastically with more expensive packages. The reason is relatively simple. Those who spend a lot of money are encouraged through artificial scarcity to spend even more money. Because if you're already invested, you're more likely to be willing to spend even more to achieve a certain goal.

It is generally much more effective to continuously invest smaller amounts than to occasionally invest large amounts. You can even make better progress this way. The exceptions are some selected events.

The 5$ Strategy

The 5$ strategy is a method to continuously invest smaller amounts. You exclusively buy packages that cost 5$ or less and are over 4000%. This includes, among others:

  • The daily offer (always choose the hero fragments you still need here)
  • Some weekly passes
  • The cheapest package in events like the Bounty Hunter, Glitter Market, Bullseye, and various seasonal events
